Plotting Progress

Following the Board’s endorsement of RBM’s Action and Investment to defeat Malaria 2016-2030 (AIM) and the World Health Assembly’s approval of the WHO Global Technical Strategy for Malaria 2016-2030 (GTS) in May 2015, both these advocacy and technical frameworks were launched to global media and high level leadership attending the 3rd International Financing for Development conference in Addis Ababa this month.

In addition, July saw the release of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) report with estimated mortality projections to the end of 2015 revealing that malaria has surpassed its targets.

Meanwhile, the enterprise and energy of our collective media work across print, broadcast and digital channels have ensured that malaria remains firmly in the limelight. Notably, unique RBM web page views tripled on the day of the AIM launch, Monday 13th July. Following are some event coverage highlights: While planning for our HWG Gap Analysis Meeting and accompanying Advocacy for Resource Mobilization Workshop in Uganda next month continues, we anticipate an equally busy and progressive August.
